Christmas with Grandpa and Nana K

Well we actually had Christmas with Grandpa and Nana K several days after Christmas this year. Thanks to the lovely flu bug that came to visit I messed up a lot of people's plans (Because I am so very important, HEHE!) MawMaw and Papa's and Grandpa and Nana K's were the only places I got to go. I am thankful that I was able to get that much in.

Mike got this game and we played for a long time after dinner and presents. I can't remember what it is called though. Bradon played along and was very good. I remember when Mike and I were growing up that our cousin Aubrey always got to play all the "big people" games way before us and I was so mad. Oh well, now I guess with the "cycle" of life that tradition has been passed onto my oldest son. Funny how quick things change.

Our New Puppy

We would like to welcome our newest addition to the Hulsey House....Shug!

RK wanted to name him snowbuddy or sugar. Cade wanted to name him bolt. Travis, Cade's friend, came up with the name Yoshi. Bradon wanted Levi. You can see we did not go with any of those. Although Levi was a close second. We decided to go the AUBURN route and Shug just fit. Did not hurt that it was close to sugar either. When we get a girl we are going to name her Jordan, that is pronounced Jurden for you bammers.

Most of the time we all call him sugar shug.

Well here goes!! The girl that cut her hair said "are you ok?" I must have gasped or something. I told her was going to live.

My Favorite Things

Ok so Mike, my sister, had a post that I really liked and I am going to copy her. I wanted to share my favorite things about my kids. You might find this uninteresting but like she said it will remind me of the things I loved about them at their current ages.

11 Things I want to remember about Bradon

1. He is a smart kid that is proud of his own accomplishments.
2. He is very empathetic towards "most" of his immediate family members.
3. Bradon has a true desire to learn about God. Den and I started FPU at our church and Bradon started this class at church called Bible Skills, Thrills and Drills at the same time. He asked if we could go everytime because "I love it". That is something I hope I can say about him for years to come.
4. If I ask Bradon to pray for me or someone that I know who needs prayer He DOES IT. That is awesome. I do not know how many people say I will be praying for you and mean well but either never do pray or forget or are just simply paying lip service. John Jones at our church stopped me in church one Sunday to tell me that someone in our children's department came and told him that Bradon prayed for his family and asked that they be added to class prayer list. This is the kind of stuff that makes me more proud of anything else he accomplishes.
5. He tells terrible jokes....unless he heard them from a book (those are ok)
6. He is not afraid of trying new things (he had the lead part in our church play this past summer. Just a few short years ago he was still hiding behind my leg when people spoke to him).
7. He helps out with his sister anytime I ask him.
8. He is better than me and Den at Boggle.
9. He loves creating things out of boxes.
10. He still likes to go to work with his Dad.
11. He loves sports, but his heart is in basketball. I love the way his hustles and gives so much effort in this sport.

6 Things I want to remember about Cade

1. He is downright hysterical.
2. He is the most loving child that I have. I did not say compassionate. (HEHE!)
3. I love that Cade is completely comfortable with who he is and is not in anyway concerned with what people think about him.
4. I love that he is in your face honest...sometimes too honest. This one actually is one of the many things that makes him so funny.
5. He is my half glass empty child...which I can appreciate. He is who he is!
6. He is very artistic (he gets that from Dad. Although Grandpa will probably think he gets some of that from him too).

4 Things that I want to remember about RK

1. She is already very, very, did I say very, dramatic. She also changes her mind a lot...she is definitely all girl!!
2. She loves Addie like she is family. Addie is our next door neighbor. One time RK drew a family picture and it had the 5 of us in it and Addie.
3. She loves to stay at home with me.
4. To be so much drama she is actually very good at school and church and seems to get along well with other kids.

Congrats to Bradon

A little while back Bradon competed in the Geography Bee at school and won his class Bee. Then he went on to compete in the school wide Bee and WON that too!! I was very proud of him. About a week later he competed in a hour long written test competition for the County and we are still waiting to hear back from that. They told us that we would not hear anything until April....that seems like forever!!

SO CONGRATS BRADON!!!

I need to finish posting all of our Christmas pictures and I will get around to that.

I hope that everyone is great and staying health. We finally seem to be on the right track for stay healthy.

Today is a big day in our house and especially for a certain little girl...RK is getting all her hair cut off today. She has been asking me for quite some time now and I kept telling her that once it got long enough we would cut it. I told her that if we could wait a little longer her hair would be long enough to donate to children that are sick and need her hair. She thought that was ok and agreed. Now I will probably cry like a school girl today but I have reminded myself that it is for a great cause and it WILL grow back.

Here comes Santa Claus right down Chadwick Lane

This year Den had to work on Christmas Eve and mom helped out since I was sick by getting the kids that morning. Therefore when Santa made his annual stop through Helena the kids were not home but with Ran instead. They also got to spend some extra time with their cousin Cohen who came over to see Santa drive by. Cohen was not too happy about it though. My kids enjoy this every year and love getting the candy that Santa throws, I hate that I missed it but look forward to it next year.

Sickness in the Hulsey House

This post shall have no pics. When we left Den's parents Cade started feeling bad. He had a fever by the end of that evening and we started him on some medicine. Well that would be the end of that, or so I thought. The next day, which was the Monday before Christmas, I went to work and the kids were home with the babysitter. Bradon was actually with Drew. Anyway later on that night right before I went to bed I told Den that I thought I was getting sick. My throat was starting to hurt. The next morning I woke up and was feeling even worse. I was getting sicker by the minute. I thought I had strep or a really bad sinus infection. Anyway I had to cancel an ortho appt that Bradon had for that morning and called my mom to complain. She happen to be off that day, praise God. She was going to go get me the medicine that the doctor called in and also pick up some soup. Bradon took care of me. Now on a side note Bradon and Cade take showers together all the time really to help me out because Cade can't seem to get all the shampoo out so Bradon helps him. Well this particular morning I told them to get in and wouldn't you know they started fighting and knocked the curtain and rod down and I am to weak to even get out of bed to put it up. Just my luck! They can't do it and I still haven't had my shower yet. I called my neighbor and asked her if she could come over and put it up. She came over wearing one of those mask that people where when they cut their grass, it was really funny. I don't her blame though. I can't believe she even came in my house. Anyway I ended up having a virus that lasted for 7 days that is "flu like" but not the flu. Just my luck again I would get sick with something just like the flu only not the flu so that I can't treat my family with Tamiflu so they don't get sick. And wouldn't you know Bradon got sick. Needless to say we have had better Christmas years. However, we still had a lot to be thankful for and I and definitely blessed to have a husband that never once complained. He took all the kids to all the family functions alone, his and mine. He took care of me and Bradon and he took care of the house and the "tasks" at hand. I am a lucky girl!

Well here is the clan. We had a new addition this year, Bella, Katelyn's dog. She is too cute. We are also waiting on another addition, Macey, our niece that Candace is currently "cooking", pun intended!

So, I thought I would just let everyone see a few pics from the day. There is one of Bradon and his cousin Drew playing with the new airsoft gun that his Mawmaw and Papa got him for Christmas. They had a lot of fun playing with those. Uncle Chad thought that it would be fun to get some guns for all the guys, that would be interesting.
